What is NOT Fundamentals in Immortal Soul: Black Survival?

Last Updated 22/02/03

[Characters]

Which one do you use? Use the one you like. The game gives you “Easy” tab but it doesn’t matters which one you use as fundamentals apply to all characters. Character balance is never perfect as Crafts balance but it's good enough that Characters don't matter.

  • New player gets Fiora for free for login in the game

  • New player have access to the first purchase free character between Sua, Mai, Yuki

    • Yuki: is pretty straightforward has he gets buff when you keep his HP high & he can spam his skill when he meets someone

    • Mai: can also spam her skill on meeting someone, then enhance her armor right after

    • Sua: reads books every 10s for a jack-of-all trades buff.

  • Then characters are in-between 7k gold or 122k gold for the newest one. The older a Character is, the cheaper it is. It doesn’t mean it's the worst. It’s older.

  • Do note, that you Character starts at 1* so it will have less stats than a maxed 5* Character. Upgrade it to 3* right away with Gold at it pretty cheap, then grind their Confidence by playing them in Normal or Ranked, while using Confidence boosters when you get them from Bear Roulette

  • If you want more tips about your favorite Character, head over to Character tab.

  • That's also why we dropped the Tier List tab that we used to have here.

[Research Results]

If you want to see in video format about Research Result (outdated as Pink wasn't a thing)

Depends what you want to achieve in game with your Character.

  • Green (Healing Cell) is the default cell if you never changed it. It's like a jack of all trades.

    • More recovery while resting means you can use this on Character that rest a lot like Celine when she is Reshaping.

    • -1 damage means it's very good early game for trades as damage is pretty low at that time.

    • +Max HP is relevant for Sissela's Passive.

  • Red (Ultra-vibration) is an offensive/aggressive cell.

    • Throw Mastery receives an extra craft which is relevant mostly for High Explosive Grenade (HEG) by getting an extra dynamite. Trapsol also likes the extra dynamite craft for RDX traps.

    • Gun/Bow receives extra ammo when reloading.

      • Bow also gets more ammo from Arrow Supply Aptitude tho.

      • Relevant for Guns that doesn't have lots of ammo like Gatling Gun or no Reload like Plasma Rifle or Polaris. You will have easier time contesting for a long time (AKA Wickeline). Also unlocks EB-M17A1 has a Weapon (with only 6 bullets tho so it's tight for Wickeline contest & Aya double shots.)

    • Extra XP from Animal hunting is great as you'll reach your level 18 faster than the end of the game.

    • Armor penetration is strong, especially with Rio.

  • Purple (Environmental Variables) is an armor rushing cell.

    • Stabilizes a route planned around the 3 armor types given by it by being able to bully opponents at the beginning.

    • It makes your searches faster in specific areas as well so you'll get your items faster.

  • Blue (Biomechanics) is the stamina cell.

    • Extra Stamina every Restriction area if you deplete it's 1 stack. This is like super good. Very flexible. Can be used on all Characters.

    • You can combo the minus Stamina with Characters like William or Aiden for maximum Stamina punishment.

    • The minus Stamina or plus Stamina per hit also works on both Animals & Global skills like Barbara's Turret, Sissela, Bianca's Bloody Hands, Hyejin's Omen...

    • The max Stamina can be comboed with Character like Aiden, Fiora, Emma.

  • Pink (Tissue Engineering) is the RNG cell. (probably the worst one right now)

    • You get it's benefit from being double-hits in the game, which happens unfrequently. But we remember them tho.

    • It's armor boost is weird as you get more value from the -1 damage reduction from Green early game, and late game, it's armor boost is kinda irrelevant as mastery pierces through it anyway.

[Aptitudes]

If you want to see in video format about Aptitude

Depends what you want to achieve in game with your Character.

  • Bread seeking: default aptitude if you never changed it

    • More food = more mastery potentially from players

  • Arrow Supply: +2 arrows now so that you don't run out of Arrows when contesting for Wickeline

    • Means the extra +2 arrows from Red is not as necessary. So a Character like Arda with low Stamina could benefit from an Arrow Supply with Blue Cell setup. If you are new, I would use Blue with Arrow Supply anyway on any Bow Characters.

  • Ammo Supply: gives you FNJ bullets each time you reload with extra armor penetration

    • Best aptitude for Gun users that want to craft anything else than no reload Guns (Gatling, Plasma Rifle, Polaris)

  • Accelerate: the Stamina aptitude, the most used one, Stamina is very flexible like Blue cell. Do note that every other cells come at the cost of giving up this one.

    • Flexibility is highly valued in this game as you will contested at some point during your games.

    • No Reload Gun users can also use this cell

    • Bow users can also use it but they will be forced to craft an Infinity Quiver for Arrows or reloading their Hwacha.

  • Counter Attack (CA): high potential rewards, but the timing can be weird as players can play around it, as players usually do one hit and run so you don't get to activate your CA

    • Characters with Low Armor / Low HP benefits from this potentially (usually at the cost of Accelerate tho)

    • Dailin has this aptitude as a staple with her infinite Stamina and low Armor

    • If you are the best player in the lobby, people runs from you anyway

  • Scout: lets you spot players or animals nearby

    • The -10% to be seen is relevant on Character like Hack JP that doesn't fight anyway, or anyone willing to potentially save a hit during a fight
    • Barbara uses it well by spotting target for her Turret Drones

    • Eva can use it to find targets when on Vital Crash

    • Players use it for better Animal control

  • Pursuit: can lands you easy kills with players running around on low food

    • Jackie makes it 100% to find her target instead of 50% from Hide & Seek

    • Rozzi & Luke could potentially land their skills on killing someone

  • Ambush: the joke aptitude, mostly because you can't search while Ambushing so you are getting behind by doing so

    • Alex can use it decently with his Stealth

    • Hart can combo it with her Peace Zone

  • Restoration: the debuff & injury removal aptitude

    • Bloody Hands Bianca can benefit from it to prevent a random Yuki from disabling her skill

    • The more debuffs are currently meta, the better this aptitude can become, potentially

[Gems/Skins]

Gems are cosmetics. Immortal Soul: Black Survival is not a pay to win gacha game. So it doesn't matter. Check our Guide on how to get Gems if you are interested regardless.
