Drunken Master Dailin evading attacks while drunk. A very technical character in terms of inputs, and timing.

Skill Explained

  • Lee Huazi: Changed from a field skill to a combat skill, this signature skill gives her 1 or 3 Sorghum Wine for Stamina, for combination with Drunken Master, and for her signature craft Dragon Dobok.

    • Dragon Dobok: While Dailin can avoid the Alcohol on her signature Dragon Dobok, she still has to find a Scissor which is mostly find in Alcohol areas (except Factory). It is maybe an opportunity and an indication for Dailin to build around Factory -> Town Hall as an example.

    • Infinite Stamina: She can be very flexible on her Research Result and Aptitude unlike most characters going for Stamina-focused Cell / Aptitude. Dailin is well-known for using Counter Attack Aptitude as an example. More on this below.

    • Inventory Management: It does requires you to have space in your inventory to receive your Sorghum Wine, there can be a little inventory management learning curve for this. It is potentially an idea to stack Sorghum Wine.

    • Stamina Crafts: Sorghum Wine builds not only her signature armor, but into specific Stamina crafts. It is good to be aware of them before jumping into a lobby.

    • Enhanced Attack: This skill now being a Combat skill also added for the first time on her kit extra damage on her next basic attack. So it's even better to use it even without the inventory space for Sorghum Wine.

  • Drunken Master: Now with a Stack mechanic that goes up to 4 everytime she drinks Alcohol. This can now be used potentially more often than her previous cooldown effect. Lee Huaxi potentially lands her more Sorghum Wine on average as well. With exception of phenomenal timing and ping, you will typically Dodge one attack on Drunken Master. And as in-game already mentions, you won't avoid getting debuffed while Dodging.

    • Compensates Low DEF: Dodging is necessary to compensate Dailin's low DEF stats.

    • Food Consumption: Dodging an Attack gives you some breathing room for Food consumption so that you can stay a little longer.

    • Avoid A Double Hit: Dodging can allow Dailin to jump into a fight by avoiding the dreaded double hit unlike most characters.

    • Timing: A well-timed Drunken Master against an opponent's combat skill can be decisive sometimes.

    • Sorghum Wine is Enough: Sometimes, Dailin don't have time to craft her Sorghum Wine, but this is still enough to build stacks, especially when given multiple copies.

    • Dodging Used to be a Thing: Fun fact, missing an accuracy Attack check with any character used to do no damage just like Dailin's Dodge. It is now called Guard, and reduces it only by 50% instead.

General Tips

  • Counter Attack Aptitude: While it does have a learning curve, it is a strong consideration given infinite Stamina on Dailin. It also offset her typical low DEF stats by reducing incoming damage. It is also great to use in combination with Drunken Master to both Dodge and then Counter Attack in common hit-and-run situations. And just like Drunken Master, it can reduce an upcoming burst combat skill.

  • Triple Mastery Flexibility: At the start of the game, Dailin has a great triple Mastery that can be easily flexed into from her RNG supplies, or lobby considerations.

  • Early: She doesn’t start very strong, but the combination of her Triple Mastery Flexibility, Lee Huazi, and Counter Attack Aptitude can be enough to claim her starting area with success.

  • Mid: In tough lobbies, hit-and-run is the favorite modus operandi. Dailin is favored with her Drunken Master in combination with Counter Attack to receive very few damage everytime she meets an opponents. This save Dailin necessary Food for extended fights.

  • Late: As damage scales with Mastery, Dailin, a very defensive character, is in a good position to reduce the incoming damage to secure victory. As mentioned, non-crafted Sorghum Wine can be enough to build Drunken Master stacks!

Counters

  • Matchup Lobby: It can reveal usage of Counter Attack Aptitude from any character, especially Dailin, if you do meet her in your lobby.

  • Dailin's Corpse: It is usually filled with Stamina crafts if you need it!
